History

[edit]

Ghana Media began publishing in 2023, according to its profile in the Project Oasis Global Media Directory. The directory identifies Daniel Jeddman as its founder and director and describes the organisation as a for-profit digital media publisher based in Ghana.[1]

The organisation developed as a digital-first publisher, distributing news through its website and social-media platforms. Project Oasis identifies its journalism formats as including breaking news, intervews and reporting, opinion and explanatory journalism.[1]

Digital media

[edit]

GhanaMedia.net operates within Ghana's expanding digital-news sector. In a May 2026 article examining the development of digital-first journalism in Ghana, ModernGhana identifed GhanaMedia.net among emerging digital native and multi-platform news organisations operating in the country.[2]

ModernGhana has also cited GhanaMedia.net a source in its own reporting. In an April 2026 article concering mob justice and the reported assault of Austin Tengeeh, ModernGhana attributed information about the incident to reporting by GhanaMedia.net.[3]

These references provide evidence of GhanaMedia.net's presence within Ghana's wider online news ecosystem beyond its own publication.[4]

Project Oasis

[edit]

Ghana Media is included in the Project Oasis Global Media Directory, a research initiative led by SembraMedia documenting independent digital media organisations. The African research was conducted with Code for Africa and covered digital media organisations in countries including Ghana.[1][5]

Project Oasis describes its research as an effort to map independent digital media and examine their sustainability, operationsa and contribution to public-interest journalism.[5] The Ghana Media profile records its location, year of establishment, leadership, editorial areas and digital distribution channels.[1]

The organisation's inclusion in Project Oasis was also reported by Ghanaian online publications in September 2026.[4][6]

Organisation

[edit]

Project Oasis identifes Daniel Jeddman as founder and director of Ghana Media.[1] GhanaMedia.net's own legal disclosure identifis Jeddman as publisher and person responsible for editorial content.[7]

The organisation distributes content through its website and social-media platforms, including Facebok, Tiktok, Instagram and X.[1]
