George Shevtsov (born 4 June 1950) [1] is an Australian actor, film-maker and conservationist.[2]

Shevtsov is a character actor, perhaps best known for major roles in feature films, including: a radio personality in the surreal comedy Love Serenade (1996); Charles de Gaulle in Ike: Countdown to D-Day (2003); a detective in Esoterica (2010) and; a contract killer in Crawl (2011).[3] [4]

Other feature films in which he has appeared include Dead Calm (1989), Let's Get Skase (2001), Japanese Story (2004), Backtrack (2015), H is for Happiness (2019), Three Thousand Years of Longing (2022) and Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga (2024).[3] [4]

His television appearances have included a recurring character in Mystery Road: Origin (2022).[3] [4]

Shevtsov has also had numerous roles on stage in Perth and other Australian cities, including a major role in the premiere stage adaptation of Tim Winton's novel, The Shepherd's Hut (2026; Black Swan Theatre).[5]
