Comment: Since the company's divestment from GE, we need to show corporate depth via independent sources. Moreover some sources may be deemed corporate trivia - see WP:NCORP and the two sections on corporate depth and trivia. GEIS Electrical Protection is an electrical equipment business associated with subsidiaries of Shanghai AEG Development Co., Ltd. The business markets electrical distribution and protection products including switchgear, circuit breakers, transformers, and related equipment.
History
[edit]ABB completed its acquisition of GE Industrial Solutions on 30 June 2018.[1] It subsequently divested its shares in two Shanghai-based electrification joint ventures.[2]
In January 2020, Shanghai Guangdian Electric completed the acquisition of ABB's stakes in the Chinese joint ventures through subsidiaries including Shanghai AEG Development Co., Ltd.[3]
On 30 June 2026, Shanghai AEG Enterprise Development Co., Ltd. announced that its wholly owned U.S. subsidiary, GEIS Electrical Protection LLC, planned to establish GEIS Switchgear (USA) LLC with Persimmon Property Investments, LLC.[4][5]
Products
[edit]GEIS Electrical Protection markets medium-voltage and low-voltage switchgear, circuit breakers, transformers, busway systems, and related electrical distribution products.[6]
