Felicia Zwebner is an American interior designer whose work includes hospitality, luxury residential, commercial and marine interior design. She is the founder and principal of Felicia Zwebner Design, a New York–based interior design practice established in 1996. Her work has included custom furniture design, interior architecture, procurement, and project management for residential, hospitality and cruise industry projects.
Career
[edit]Zwebner began her career in finance before working with artist Peter Max and later at Sotheby's. In 1996 she founded Felicia Zwebner Design in New York City.[1]
Her practice has undertaken residential, commercial, hospitality and marine interior design projects, including interior architecture, procurement of furniture, fixtures and equipment (FF&E), operational supplies and equipment (OS&E), and the design of bespoke furniture and lighting.[2]
In 2010, Zwebner established FZ Collection, a company producing custom furniture, lighting and architectural millwork for hospitality and luxury residential projects.[3]
Projects
[edit]Among Zwebner's published work is her participation in the 2013 Kips Bay Decorator Show House in New York, where she designed one of the featured interiors.[4][5]
She collaborated with R. Gross Architecture on the East Hudson Residence, a private residential project in New York.[6]
In 2010, she designed Felicia in Lampworksland, an installation for the New York lighting showroom Lampworks inspired by Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.[7]
Cruise industry
[edit]Zwebner has participated in industry events relating to cruise ship interior design.
In 2019 she was a panellist at the inaugural Cruise Ship Interiors Expo Americas in Miami during the session Women in Leadership: A New Era, alongside executives from Virgin Voyages, Seabourn, Holland America Line and P&O Australia. The discussion addressed leadership, recruitment and diversity within the cruise interiors sector.[8]
In 2020, Cruise Ship Interiors Expo featured Zwebner in its International Women's Day coverage highlighting women in leadership within the cruise interiors industry.[9]
Recognition
[edit]In 2013, Zwebner was honoured by EMUNAH of America during its Empowering Women luncheon recognising women for professional achievement and community leadership. In an accompanying interview published by The Jewish Link, she discussed entrepreneurship, leadership and balancing professional and family life.[10]
