Fastmount Ltd. is a New Zealand-based company that manufactures panel mounting systems for marine, architectural, recreational vehicle (RV), aviation, and furniture industries.[1]
History
[edit]Fastmount was founded in 2004 by Gregg Kelly, a boat builder in Auckland, New Zealand when he found some issues with the panel mounting systems used at the time. To address these issues, he partnered with designer and engineer Ron Hanley and founded Fastmount Panel Mounting System.[1][2]
Acquisition
[edit]In November-December 2021, Fastmount was acquired by Nautical Group Holdings (NGH), a newly formed company backed by private equity firm Oriens Capital. This acquisition brought Fastmount together with other brands like Railblaza and NTD Plastics under one umbrella.[3][4]
In May 2022, Gregg Kelly officially stepped down as Director and Head of Technical after 18 years leading the company. Keith Pratt succeeded him as General Manager.[1][4]
Awards
[edit]In 2021, one of Fastmount's products, The Stratlock Rail System won the Australian Good Design Award, an ICONIC Award from the German Design Council in the “Innovative Architecture” category, and a Bronze at the Best Design Awards in New Zealand.[4][5][6]
In 2025, Fastmount won a High Product Quality award in the Functions & Components category of the Interzum Awards for its Nickel Plated Panel Mounting clips, and was also given a Special Mention from the DAME Design Awards for its Acoustic clip, as part of the Manufacturing, Support Product & Materials category.[7][8]
