Comment: Full of puffery. "The adoption of hybrid working arrangements increased demand among businesses for flexible, non-capital-intensive furnishing solutions. Enky's subscription-based model was developed to address this market condition." See WP:SOLUTIONS and WP:NPOV. Rewrite article in neutral & encyclopedic for tone & content. Cut out any content without a reliable, independent source. CopyleftEverything (talk) 02:56, 11 June 2026 (UTC)

Enky (registered as ENKY SRL) is a Belgian private company headquartered in Brussels, Belgium. Founded in 2020 by Aïssa Laroussi, it rents and leases furniture to businesses and property operators under a circular economy model, an approach marketed as furniture-as-a-service (FaaS). The company operates in Belgium, France and the United Kingdom.[1][2]
History
[edit]Enky was founded in 2020 by Aïssa Laroussi. Between 2020 and 2024 its workforce grew from approximately 12 to around 40 employees, which the company has attributed in part to its entry into the United Kingdom in October 2024.[1]
Business model
[edit]Enky provides furniture through several financing structures.[1][3]
Subscription
[edit]Under the subscription model, clients pay a fixed monthly fee under an annual contract and may renew, exchange or return items at the end of the term. Ownership does not transfer to the client.
Leasing
[edit]The leasing option involves fixed-term monthly payments, at the conclusion of which ownership of the furniture transfers to the client.
Circular purchase
[edit]Clients may buy furniture outright while retaining the option to sell items back to Enky at fair market value within a ten-year period.
Leaseback
[edit]Under the leaseback structure, Enky purchases a client's existing furniture at fair market value following assessment. The client then subscribes to the same furniture and continues to use it while Enky holds ownership.
Enky Invest
[edit]Enky operates a crowdfunding platform, Enky Invest, through which individuals and organisations can invest in furniture projects and receive a share of the rental income generated by the funded assets.[2] As of early 2025, the platform had reportedly raised more than €2.5 million and attracted more than 2,000 investors.[4][2]
Sustainability
[edit]Enky sources furniture from European manufacturers and incorporates new, refurbished, second-hand and vintage pieces. According to the company, its model extends the usable life of furniture by around four times compared with conventional purchase-and-disposal patterns.[3]
According to the CORDIS research report, Europe produces approximately 11 million tonnes of furniture waste each year, of which around 3 percent is recycled.[3][5] Enky describes its model as addressing this end-of-life management problem in the furniture industry.
Operations and markets
[edit]As of early 2025, Enky reported having installed more than €5 million worth of furniture across Belgium, France, Switzerland and Spain.[1][3] Its clients include office occupiers, hospitality operators (such as restaurants, hotels and cafés) and residential landlords. Enky entered the United Kingdom in October 2024, its first market outside the European Union single market.[1]
