Draft:Daventry Parkway

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Summary

[edit]

Daventry Parkway is a new £20 million proposed railway station by 14-year-old Harry Burr in July 2020. He proposed building a 2-track station that can accommodate 12-car trains and be fully accessible to serve the town of Daventry.

Location

[edit]

The station would be located just over 4 miles away in the village of Weedon Bec on the [West Coast Mainline] on the Northampton Bypass fast lines at 52.235477, -1.082800.

Nearest Station

[edit]

The nearest station to Daventry currently is in [Long Buckby] approximately 6 miles away, sitting on the Northampton loop with 2 tph towards [Birmingham New Street] and London Euston.

Connectivity

[edit]

The station would be served by buses, with routes slightly altered, and would have good access from the A45 for cars.

Approval

[edit]

[West Northamptonshire Council] has given their formal support.

Services

[edit]

It would have services to places such as London, [Crewe] and Birmingham and would also act as an intercity station for those living in Northampton
