Dave Sidhu (born 2 November 1986) is an Indian–Australian film producer, director and casting director associated with Punjabi and independent film projects. He began his career as a casting director and later worked as a producer and director in films, web series and music videos.
Early life
[edit]Dave Sidhu was born in Barnala, Punjab, India.
Career
[edit]Sidhu began his career in the film industry as a casting director. He worked on the Punjabi film Pareshan Parinda (2018), where he was also credited as an actor.[1]
He later worked on projects including Kuriyan Jawan Bapu Pareshan, Haterz, and Padma Shri Kaur Singh. Sidhu has also directed short films and digital content, including Qaida-e-Noor (2021), a project focusing on literacy awareness.[2]
Sidhu directed the Punjabi music video Dholan Mahi (2023), featuring Jaspreet "Jazim" Sharma and Dimple Doshi.[citation needed] and also directed the music videoTere Pyaar Ne. He has also spoken about the potential of Australia as a destination for Bollywood and South Asian filmmaking.[3]
In 2026, Sidhu produced the Hindi-language film Vo Ladki, which was screened in Australia,[4][5] and directed the pilot episode of the series Bhole Ki Bhool, which was also screened in Australia ahead of its planned OTT release.[6]
