Dana Enache is a Romanian-born horror and dark fiction author based in Portlaoise, Ireland.[1] She writes psychological horror and supernatural fiction and has published three novels in both English and Romanian: The Dream (a collection of psychological horror stories), On Vacation (a monster horror novella), and Evolution (a science fiction horror novel set 160 years in the future).[1]
Early life
[edit]Enache was born in Constanța, Romania. She began writing as a teenager, moving from poetry to prose after her Romanian teacher, an editor at a local literary magazine, introduced her to the works of Edgar Allan Poe and Lord Byron and published two of her first stories.[1] She moved to Ireland with her husband and two children more than twelve years ago, and has lived in Portlaoise for nearly a decade.[1]
Career
[edit]Enache launched her third novel, Evolution, at Portlaoise Library in November 2025.[2] Her short stories have appeared in several magazines and other publications, and she also publishes short fiction on her website.[1]
