DJ Butter Biscuit, also known as DJBB, is a fictional musical artist and character associated with an independent hip-hop music project of the same name. Depicted as an orange tabby cat from Los Santos, the character appears throughout an interconnected fictional continuity primarily set in Strawberry and Vinewood. The project began releasing music in 2024 and has incorporated hip hop, trap, melodic rap and other styles.
DJ Butter Biscuit's releases include the mixtapes All Hail Butter Biscuit and Summer of Butter Biscuit, the extended play Butterphoria, the collaborative project Thank You for Your Blessing, Butter Biscuit with Vinewood Divines, and the 2026 debut studio album The Butter-Verse.
Development and release history
[edit]2024: Beginnings
[edit]DJ Butter Biscuit began releasing music in 2024. The project's first extended play, Mother Flippin' Biscuit, was released on June 7, 2024. The release included early songs such as "Fat Like a Cat" and "Gargantuan".
"Hot Meat Stick" was among the project's earliest releases and became a recurring part of the DJ Butter Biscuit series. Subsequent songs in the "Hot Meat Stick" series were used to signal forthcoming projects.
The mixtape All Hail Butter Biscuit followed on July 28, 2024. Material from this period established several elements that continued to appear in later DJ Butter Biscuit releases, including Dudley and the character's association with the BF Weevil.
An early version of Summer of Butter Biscuit was developed during 2024 but was ultimately abandoned. Some material associated with the project, including "Emoji Hoodie", "Boof Boof" and "Kill This Beat", was retained or subsequently released.
2025: Butterphoria and Summer of Butter Biscuit
[edit]DJ Butter Biscuit released Butterphoria on May 24, 2025. The five-track extended play included "Cereal God", "Velvet Microwave", "Shadow Snack" and the title track.
Butterphoria also expanded the recurring cast surrounding DJ Butter Biscuit. Velvet Fang appeared during this period as part of the Sprunk Syndicate, a fictional collective associated with the project.
The mixtape Summer of Butter Biscuit was released on June 20, 2025.
During this period, additional material was developed for a project titled Butter Noir. The project was completed in an early form but was withheld from release. Material associated with Butter Noir placed greater emphasis on the Sprunk Syndicate and the fictional world surrounding DJ Butter Biscuit.
The unreleased song "Stay Butter" was also developed around this period. The song revisits major events in the character's fictional history, including his relationship with Dudley and the Target incident.
2026: Vinewood Divines and The Butter-Verse
[edit]On January 30, 2026, DJ Butter Biscuit and Vinewood Divines released the collaborative project Thank You for Your Blessing, Butter Biscuit. The project included "Butter Don't Cry", "Cathedral Meat Stick" and "Dudley's Sanctuary". Its music incorporated a greater emphasis on soul and choir-influenced arrangements than previous DJ Butter Biscuit releases.
"Hot Meat Stick 3" was released on June 19, 2026 and was used to announce that a larger project was forthcoming.
"Night Shift" was released on July 24, 2026 as the lead single from DJ Butter Biscuit's debut studio album.
The Butter-Verse was released on August 21, 2026. The ten-track album consists of "The Butter-Verse", "Strawberry Static", "Vinewood Nights", "Rooftop Hustle", "Night Shift", "Wrong Frequency", "Crossed Lines", "Shadow Protocol", "Breathe the Battle" and "Checkmate".
The album uses the established Los Santos setting as the basis for a larger narrative involving DJ Butter Biscuit, Dudley and Christina. Its storyline follows DJ Butter Biscuit's progression from Strawberry to Vinewood and an eventual conflict over Vinewood. "Checkmate" concludes the album's central narrative.
Following The Butter-Verse, the project continued releasing and developing material outside the album's storyline.
Character and fictional biography
[edit]Strawberry and early life
[edit]Within the fictional continuity of the project, DJ Butter Biscuit originates from Strawberry, a neighborhood in Los Santos. His early characterization is associated with street life, crime and the BF Weevil.
Dudley, a brown tabby cat, is portrayed as one of Biscuit's closest companions and an important influence on his eventual involvement with music.
Biscuit's early history is referenced throughout later releases rather than being presented as a single chronological narrative. Strawberry subsequently remains a recurring location and symbol of the character's origins after his rise to prominence.
Dudley and transition to music
[edit]Dudley serves as an emotional anchor throughout the DJ Butter Biscuit fictional continuity. He is depicted as introducing Biscuit to music and encouraging his development as an artist.
An early song titled "BBL Dudley" marked one of the first major musical references to Dudley. Within the fictional continuity, Biscuit abandons his previous criminal lifestyle following this period and increasingly focuses on music.
Dudley continues to appear in or be referenced by later material. Songs including "We Dance Anyway" and "Dudley's Sanctuary" place greater emphasis on their relationship.
Target incident
[edit]The Target incident is a major event in DJ Butter Biscuit's fictional backstory. The storyline depicts an intoxicated and unclothed Biscuit inside a Target store, where he is seen by a child. Panicking, Biscuit subsequently attempts to kill the child.
The fictional incident is associated with indecent exposure, assault of a minor and attempted murder within the project's continuity. Later material depicts Biscuit as regretting his actions.
The event contributed to the abandonment of an early version of Summer of Butter Biscuit during 2024. It was later revisited in "Stay Butter", an unreleased song structured around Biscuit's past, Dudley and the consequences of the incident.
Rise to prominence and Vinewood
[edit]As Biscuit's fictional music career develops, he moves beyond his Strawberry origins and becomes associated increasingly with Vinewood. He eventually resides in Vinewood Hills, while his former Strawberry residence becomes associated with his earlier life.
The character's increasing prominence in Los Santos becomes a recurring component of later releases. Despite his fame within the fictional continuity, Biscuit remains independent and maintains a comparatively distant relationship with his audience outside of performances.
The transition between Strawberry and Vinewood becomes a recurring theme and setting throughout the project, including songs such as "Strawberry Static", "Vinewood Nights" and "Strawberry to Vinewood".
Christina
[edit]Christina is a recurring character and antagonist within the DJ Butter Biscuit continuity. She is depicted as a former romantic partner of Biscuit.
Their relationship and subsequent conflict appear throughout DJ Butter Biscuit's music. Christina becomes particularly important to the storyline of The Butter-Verse, in which she functions as a central antagonist during Biscuit and Dudley's conflict over Vinewood.
The Butter-Verse storyline
[edit]The Butter-Verse presents one of the project's most developed continuous narratives. Its early tracks establish Biscuit's progression from Strawberry into the nightlife and prominence associated with Vinewood.
As the album progresses, the conflict involving Christina becomes increasingly prominent. Biscuit and Dudley eventually work together in an effort to regain control of Vinewood.
The storyline concludes with "Checkmate". During the song's conclusion, Biscuit realizes that the threat he has been confronting is connected to his own actions and history, completing the album's central conflict.
Sprunk Syndicate
[edit]The Sprunk Syndicate is a fictional musical collective appearing throughout the DJ Butter Biscuit project. The group was founded by DJ Butter Biscuit and consists of Biscuit, Velvet Fang, Croydon Crumbs, Goldie Gloss and Crybaby Kora.
Velvet Fang
[edit]Velvet Fang is portrayed as a mysterious rapper associated with a purple hood, a shadowed face and glowing green eyes. Musically, the character is generally used for technically focused rap performances, including dense rhyme patterns and extended flows.
Fang first appeared during the Butterphoria era and has subsequently collaborated with DJ Butter Biscuit.
Croydon Crumbs
[edit]Croydon Crumbs is a British member of the Sprunk Syndicate characterized by a UK accent and adaptable rap style. Within the fictional history of the group, Biscuit meets Croydon in the United Kingdom during a police pursuit.
Croydon subsequently becomes one of Biscuit's recurring collaborators.
Goldie Gloss
[edit]Goldie Gloss is portrayed as a rapper and singer. Her performances combine sung and rapped vocals and provide a stylistic contrast to the more rap-focused members of the collective.
Crybaby Kora
[edit]Crybaby Kora is primarily portrayed as a singer. The character has a doll-like visual appearance, including blue hair and cracked porcelain-like skin.
Kora's appearances generally emphasize melodic vocals and harmonies. She has also appeared alongside DJ Butter Biscuit on collaborative material.
Recurring elements
[edit]BF Weevil
[edit]The BF Weevil is one of the most prominent recurring objects associated with DJ Butter Biscuit. Biscuit is depicted as owning Weevils in multiple colors, although a green Weevil serves as his signature vehicle.
The vehicle is referenced frequently in lyrics and visual imagery. Biscuit's association with it dates to the project's early material and remains part of the character's visual identity.
Sprunk
[edit]Sprunk, a fictional soft drink from the Grand Theft Auto series, is another recurring element of the project. References to drinking Sprunk appear frequently in DJ Butter Biscuit's lyrics and imagery and inspired the name of the Sprunk Syndicate.
Los Santos
[edit]Los Santos serves as the primary setting of the fictional DJ Butter Biscuit continuity. Strawberry represents Biscuit's origins, while Vinewood and Vinewood Hills are associated with his later success.
The contrast between Strawberry and Vinewood is used repeatedly throughout the project's songs and visual imagery.
Artistry
[edit]Musical style
[edit]DJ Butter Biscuit's music is primarily based in hip hop. Across different releases, the project has incorporated trap, melodic rap, soul-influenced production, choir arrangements and other contemporary hip-hop styles.
The project does not maintain a single production style across every release. Songs range from comedic early material to more melodic, narrative-focused and atmospheric recordings.
Lyrics and themes
[edit]DJ Butter Biscuit's lyrics combine conventional hip-hop themes with elements specific to the fictional character. Recurring subjects include Los Santos, Strawberry, Vinewood, the BF Weevil, Sprunk, Dudley, Christina and the Sprunk Syndicate.
Humor is particularly prominent in the project's earlier material. Later releases retain comedic elements while placing greater emphasis on character development, relationships and interconnected narratives.
Biscuit is also depicted as writing lyrics in the Notes application. The phrase "That's a bar, I'm writing that down" became a recurring expression associated with the character.
Visual identity
[edit]DJ Butter Biscuit is depicted as a stocky orange tabby cat, generally wearing sunglasses and dark clothing. The character's imagery frequently incorporates the green BF Weevil, Sprunk and locations within Los Santos.
Later visual material has increasingly emphasized Vinewood and nighttime Los Santos imagery.
Other characters and collaborators
[edit]In addition to the Sprunk Syndicate, the DJ Butter Biscuit project has featured a number of recurring or one-off collaborators.
Vinewood Divines collaborated with DJ Butter Biscuit on Thank You for Your Blessing, Butter Biscuit.
Banana Pudding appeared on "Big Body Weevil". Other one-off characters and collaborators associated with the project include Lil Gravy Train and Ricky Velveeta.
