Cinnet II is an upcoming psychological horror video game developed and published by RedWhaleGames. The game serves as the sequel to Cinnet:I, a first-person horror game released for Microsoft Windows on 7 October 2021.[1] The sequel was announced by the developer through Steam Community channels in 2024.[2]

Gameplay

[edit]

Cinnet II is a first-person psychological horror game featuring exploration, environmental storytelling, puzzle-solving and supernatural survival mechanics. Players investigate abandoned buildings, underground structures and forgotten settlements while collecting documents, audio recordings and historical evidence related to unexplained events.

The game places emphasis on atmosphere and psychological tension. Players encounter paranormal phenomena, visual distortions and supernatural entities as they progress through the story. Various puzzles and investigation sequences are used to uncover the origins of the village's curse.

Plot

[edit]

Several years after the events of Cinnet:I, investigative journalist Ömer receives a package containing newspaper clippings, police reports and handwritten testimonies connected to a series of disappearances in the abandoned Anatolian village of Karabayır.

Official records indicate that dozens of residents either disappeared or abandoned the settlement during the late twentieth century following reports of unexplained deaths, possession cases and supernatural occurrences. Local folklore claims that a hidden shrine beneath the village was used for forbidden rituals for generations.

Determined to uncover the truth, Ömer travels to Karabayır and begins documenting the deserted settlement. Shortly after arriving, he experiences disturbing visions and discovers evidence suggesting that a secret cult once operated beneath the village.

As his investigation deepens, he uncovers references to an ancient supernatural entity believed to have influenced the region for centuries. Hidden tunnels, underground chambers and forgotten archives reveal a history of disappearances, ritual practices and unexplained tragedies.

The deeper Ömer ventures into Karabayır's past, the more reality itself appears to distort around him. Faced with increasingly dangerous supernatural encounters, he must uncover the origin of the curse before the entity's influence spreads beyond the abandoned village.

Development

[edit]

The game is being developed by RedWhaleGames using the Unity game engine. According to the developer, the project continues the story established in Cinnet:I and expands the scope of the series beyond the single-house setting of the original game.[2]

The first game, Cinnet:I, was released on Steam in October 2021 and was set in a haunted house located in Kayaköy, Muğla. The protagonist, Ömer, investigated paranormal events linked to black magic and demonic activity.[1]

Release

[edit]

As of June 2026, Cinnet II has not received an official release date. The game is planned for release on Microsoft Windows.[2]
