Cine2Nerdle is a website created by Canadian developer Nilanth Yogdasan. [1] The website consists of a variety of film-based puzzles for cinephiles and a competitive battle mode.
The website initially started in 2021 as an individual puzzle with the core mechanic being flipping over tiles to reveal the movie underneath. This was inspired by other film related daily puzzle sites like Framed. The first game was named CineNerdle and was succeeded by CineNerdle 2, later stylized as Cine2Nerdle on the website.
Gameplay
[edit]Cine2Nerdle is broken up into two sections: Puzzles and Battles.[2]
Puzzles consists of six daily puzzles: Original, Reversal, Logical, Assemble, Critical and Burgle (which has it's own webpage). The puzzles range from grid-based movie connections to guessing the film based on reviews or keywords. These are largely submitted by users and have star ratings feedback from players.
Battles allow the users to participate in friendly chess-like competition in both 1v1 mode as well as a battle royale arena mode. The users can choose to appear as anonymous guest users or create an account. Signed in users can play 1v1 battles to earn profile badges and elo ratings.[3]
