Chloe Rickard

Chloe Rickard is an Australian television producer and executive, and a partner, Chief Operating Officer, and executive producer at Jungle Entertainment, one of Australia's leading independent production companies. She has been part of the company for more than 20 years and has helped guide its growth into an internationally successful producer of scripted comedy and drama.

Career

Rickard is one of four equal partners at Jungle Entertainment, alongside Jason Burrows, Trent O'Donnell, and Phil Lloyd. In her role as Partner, COO, and Executive Producer, she oversees the company's production slate and its international format sales across the United States, Europe, Asia-Pacific and the Middle East.

Under Rickard's tenure, Jungle Entertainment was named Australian Screen Business of the Year in 2026, with the company citing 2025–2026 as the biggest year in its history, including three original series releases and the production of My Brilliant Career for Netflix. At the 2026 Screen Producers Australia (SPA) Awards, Jungle Entertainment won the Media Super Production Business of the Year and the Screen Business Export Award.

Her executive producer and producer credits include: My Brilliant Career (Netflix, 2026), a period drama based on the Miles Franklin novel, premiering August 13, 2026 The Funeral Singer (in development), a romantic comedy series created by Lucy Durack and written by Leon Ford, executive produced with Jason Burrows. He Had It Coming (Stan, 2025), a comedy-crime series created by Gretel Vella and Craig Anderson Sunny Nights (Stan, Hulu, 2025–2026), an eight-part dramedy starring Will Forte and D'Arcy Carden, co-produced with Echo Lake Entertainment Good Cop / Bad Cop (Stan, The CW, ITV, 2025) Population 11 (Stan, Lionsgate International, 2024) Wakefield (ABC, Showtime, BBC Studios, 2021) Bad Mothers (Nine Network, Sundance Now, 2019) Sando (ABC, Acorn, RLJ Entertainment, 2019) Squinters (ABC, Red Arrow Studios International, 2018–2019) Here Come the Habibs (Nine Network, 2016–2017) No Activity (Stan, 2015–2018), which became one of the highest-selling scripted formats internationally in recent years. A Moody Christmas (ABC, 2012–2014), which sold to 118 territories worldwide and was remade in the United States for Fox as The Moodys.

On My Brilliant Career, Rickard led efforts to build First Nations employment and representation across the production, both on screen and behind the camera, a focus highlighted by Netflix during NAIDOC Week 2025.

Industry involvement

Rickard is a former Chair of the Screen Tasmania Advisory Board (STEAG). She is a member of the International Emmy Awards, the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA), and the Screen Producers Association.

In 2026, Rickard spoke at the launch of Screen Well's Mental Health Action Plan, an industry-wide roadmap backed by Netflix, Prime Video, BBC Studios Australia, and Disney Studios Australia, discussing her experience implementing its recommendations during the production of My Brilliant Career.

Other ventures

Rickard is a director, founder, and general manager of Nightcap Ridge, an eco-luxury rainforest retreat near Byron Bay in the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales, offering private cottage accommodation and exclusive-use weddings and events across 67 acres bordering Nightcap National Park. She has held the role since July 2025.

Education

Rickard attended the Hunter School of the Performing Arts in Newcastle, New South Wales, where she served as a school captain in 2001.

She gained her Master of Screen Arts & Business from the Australian Film Television and Radio School (AFTRS) in 2015, where she was awarded the Foxtel New Media Innovation Prize and the Wake in Fright Prize for best thesis. The Wake in Fright Prize, awarded by the Wake in Fright Trust in 2016, recognised her thesis on integrating audience feedback into the screen development process; she was selected from a shortlist that also included Abigail Tabone, Annie Parnell, and Paul Wiegard. In 2020, Rickard returned to AFTRS as a panellist alongside fellow alumni Wiegard (Madman Entertainment) and Nathan Anderson (Start Beyond) for "Growing Your Creative Business," a discussion on running screen and media companies through the COVID-19 pandemic.
