Cate Richard (born 2008) is a Canadian actor, writer, and director based out of Collingwood, Halifax and Toronto. She is known for her early work in regional theatre. Richard is attending Dalhousie University at the Fountain School of Performing Arts acting program, where she is set to begin training in fall 2026.

Richard is best known for her original play "Doll Parts." The play is set against the backdrop of the Sunnyside Youth Pageant where perfection is mandatory and silence is rewarded, Doll Parts follows four contestants (Samantha, Vanessa, Norah and Bea) as they navigate the machinery of performance and competition within a tradition not built for the girls competing, but for the men who watch them. As tensions start to rise, each contestant must figure out what it means to be seen, and what it costs to speak out. Richard wrote, directed and stage managed the play. "Doll Parts" went on to win several awards at the NTS Dramafest including: Best director, Award for excellence in writing, Best Set Design and Outstanding Production.

Early life and education: Cate Richard was raised in Toronto, Ontario, where her passion for the arts began. Richard began pursuing acting at age 3 and started professionally in her late teens. Her acting style is noted for emotional range, structured interpretation, and dry comedic timing. She graduated from high school in June 2026, and will be continuing her acting career in Nova Scotia as she studies with The Fountain School of Performing Arts.

Richard’s early achievements in theatre, most notably the success of Doll Parts at the NTS Dramafest, have positioned her as an emerging voice in Canadian performance and storytelling. As she begins her training at the Fountain School of Performing Arts in 2026, Richard continues to develop her work as an actor, writer, and director across Collingwood, Halifax, and Toronto. Her growing body of work reflects a commitment to character‑driven narratives, feminist perspectives, and innovative staging, marking her as a young artist whose career is steadily gaining momentum.
