Casey Anthony Pettit (born 15 October 2002) is an English footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder for EFL League Two club Rochdale.

Club career

Youth career

Casey Pettit began his career at the academy of West Ham United, from there he moved to Millwall and in 2019; Pettit moved to Luton Town. Whilst with The Hatters, he went on to captain the Under-18 and Under-21 sides.[4]

Luton Town

On 21 September 2021, Pettit signed his first professional contract with Luton Town,[5] after which he became part of the development squad and in January 2022, Pettit was confident he was on the right pathway to achieve his end goal of making the first team squad.[6] After returning from a loan spell at Lewes, Pettit was named on the first team bench for several games during the tenures of Nathan Jones and Rob Edwards respectively.[7][8] At the end of 2022–23, Luton Town confirmed that he would be leaving when his contract expired at the end of June 2023.[9]

Lewes (loan)

On 22 January 2022, Pettit joined Isthmian League Premier Division side Lewes on a one-month deal,[10] the following February, Pettit's loan deal was extended by a further month; which came after some impressive displays as well as scoring his first goal in senior football that came against East Thurrock United.[11] On 25 March 2022, the loan was extended until the end of the season,[12][13] however, on 23 April 2022 - before the final league game of the season; Pettit was recalled by parent club, Luton Town, he went onto feature 14 times in the league during his time at Lewes, scoring once.[14]

Maidenhead United

On 4 August 2023, Pettit signed for National League side Maidenhead United,[15][16] after an impressive first season with the club and becaming a massive fan favourite at York Road, Pettit was voted as The Supporters' Player Of The Season.[17] On 22 July 2024, he signed a new deal with Maidenhead United ahead of the 2024–25 season,[18] he went onto play in all 46 league games during the campaign, which ended in relegation to the National League South.[2][19]

Rochdale

On 8 July 2025, Pettit left Maidenhead United and joined National League side Rochdale on permanent deal; signing a two-year deal.[4][20] He went onto feature 40 times in the league for Dale, as the club were promoted back to the EFL after beating Boreham Wood 3–1 on penalties after the match had finished 1–1 in regulation time.[21][22] On 1 August 2026, Pettit came on as a second half substitute in the EFL Cup for Rochdale during a 2–2 draw against Tranmere Rovers - which saw Dale end up winning 2–1 on penalties,[23] however during the same game, he was subbed off again after suffering an MCL injury; which will see Pettit sidelined for several months.[24][25]

Personal life

Away from the pitch, Pettit founded a coaching company called Casey Pettit Coaching in 2020, he's also received his FA Level 1 and Level 2 coaching badges as well as a receiving his UEFA B coaching badge at the early age of 19; which made him one of the youngest professional footballers to achieve this feat.[26][27]
