Caroline Mutoko (born 4 January 1973) is a Kenyan media personality and marketing executive, best known for co-hosting The Big Breakfast morning show on Kiss 100 FM in Nairobi for over a decade.[1]
Early life and education
[edit]Mutoko was born to Chris and Rose Mutoko in Nairobi, Kenya.[2] She attended Loreto Convent Valley Road School for both her primary and secondary education, and later earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and sociology from the University of Nairobi.[3]
Career
[edit]Mutoko began working in radio at Capital FM, where she worked unpaid for several years before joining Kiss 100 FM, a station owned by Radio Africa Group.[4] At Kiss 100 FM she co-hosted the station's flagship morning programme, The Big Breakfast, alongside comedian Walter "Nyambane" Mong'are.[5] She went on to serve as Group Marketing Manager at Radio Africa Group before leaving the company in 2023, after a 19-year career in the organisation.[6]
Since leaving radio, Mutoko has worked as a corporate moderator and brand strategist, and has appeared as a speaker and panel moderator at international events, including the World Tourism Forum in Lucerne, Switzerland, in 2019.[7]
Public profile and advocacy
[edit]Mutoko is known for outspoken commentary on Kenyan social and political issues, and has been described as a women's rights advocate.[8]
Personal life
[edit]Mutoko has not been publicly married. She adopted a daughter, Theodora Nduku, in 2011, and revealed in 2019 that she had also adopted a son, Kimeu.[9]
