COTODAMA (Japanese: コトダマ) is a Tokyo-based audio technology company founded in 2016. The company develops speaker products that display synchronized song lyrics during music playback.[1][2]
History
[edit]COTODAMA's Lyric Speaker project was selected for the SXSW Accelerator program and received the Best Bootstrap Company award in 2015.[3]
In 2018, Abbey Road Red announced a partnership with COTODAMA related to lyric visualization technology.[4]

[edit]The Lyric Speaker is a Wi-Fi speaker system that displays song lyrics in real time as typography synchronized with music playback.[5]
The Verge described the device as using translucent screens to display animated lyrics while music is played.[6]
COTODAMA SPEAKER CANVAS

The model received a Good Design Award Best 100 designation in 2019.[8]
