Brooke Archer (born March 1st, c.1999) is an American author of Young adult literature. She is best known for the book Hearts Still Beating, which was her publishing debut which won the 2024 Cybils Awards for Speculative Fiction,[1] and A Song in the Dark, a young adult paranormal romance published in 2026.
Early Life and education
[edit]Archer was born in Corpus Christi, Texas and graduated from Chapman University with a BFA in Creative Writing. Since her father served in the United States Navy throughout her childhood, Archer lived in multiple cities and states within the United States. She also briefly lived in Bahrain. In 2016, Archer won a Gold Key and a Gold Medal in the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards.[2]
Personal life
[edit]Archer lives in San Diego with her family. She has a younger brother. Archer works as a dog groomer when not writing.
Career
[edit]Archer is involved in many social publishing circles with other authors, including S.C. Bandreddi, Emily Gray, and Daniel James. She is represented by Penelope Burns at Gelfman Schneider literary agency. Her first book Hearts Still Beating was published under G. P. Putnam's Sons on April 2, 2024. Her second book A Song in the Dark was published under the same imprint on April 14, 2026. [3]
