Bronc Box is a line of rotationally molded hard storage cases for firearms and outdoor equipment, manufactured in Ohio by Signature 4.[1]
History
[edit]The Bronc Box line was introduced by Signature 4 in 2017, initially intended to protect compound bows for archery hunters. The design has since gone through three generational revisions, which added a shorter 38 model and a larger 52 model to the range.[2]
Earlier generations used single-walled upper and lower segments with a foam fill in the intervening void. That fill was removed as a weight-saving measure and a second wall added in its place to maintain protection.[2]
Design
[edit]Both current models use identical double-walled upper and lower segments made from 0.1875-inch rotationally molded linear low-density polyethylene, a process that produces a seamless, watertight shell for each segment. The exterior carries molded cleats for ratchet straps and reinforcement molding for added structure, and the lid is secured by spring-loaded butterfly latches.[2]
Models
[edit]The Bronc 52, intended for full-length rifles, measures 57 by 17.6 by 20 inches and encloses 8.12 cubic feet of storage.[2] The Bronc 38 is intended for carbines and rifles with adjustable stocks, measuring 42 by 17.26 by 20 inches with 5.18 cubic feet of storage.[1]
Reception
[edit]Reviewing the Bronc 52 in 2023, High Ground Media scored it 19 out of 25, describing it as well balanced across cost, comfort, function and weight. The review placed its list price of $895 between the Yote Trading Company Loadmaster 42 at $849 and Pelican's Mobile Master Case at $1,284.20.[2]
A subsequent review of the Bronc 38 noted evidence of over-molding and excess material on the exterior finish, along with minor marks from contact with a heating element along some edges.[1]
