Brainr originated as a spin-off from Grupo Lusiaves. In September 2025, the company raised an €11 million seed round, led by C2 Capital Partners, reported as a record-breaking seed round for a Portuguese startup.[3][4]

The funding aims to accelerate R&D and support international expansion to the United States and Brazil.[5]
