Biz2X
[edit]Biz2X is an American financial technology company.[1]
Biz2X also hosts its Frontiers conference on an annual basis,[2] an event that invites figures in banking, fintech, investing and public policy to discuss the current themes in SME lending.
History
[edit]Biz2X was launched in 2017 by Rohit Arora and Ramit Arora as a subsidiary of Biz2Credit. While the parent company operates as a direct digital lender, Biz2X is an embedded lending platform for third-party institutional lenders. Biz2X received much of its growth funding in 2019, when Biz2Credit received $52 million in its Series B funding, led by WestBridge Capital. Some of that funding was used to expand Biz2X's infrastructure.[3]
During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 and 2021, the company's "PPP Forgiveness Platform" was utilized by several SBA-approved lenders, including ACAP SME LLC and Fountainhead, to process applications for the federal Paycheck Protection Program.[4] In late 2020, HSBC integrated the Biz2X platform into its "Fusion" program to automate credit applications for small business clients in the United States.[5] In 2022, Biz2X opened a new office in Mumbai office as part of an international expansion.[6]
In 2025, the company partnered with Amazon Web Services (AWS)[7] to expand its automation capabilities.
Products and services
[edit]The Biz2X platform provides end-to-end lending technology, including:
- In 2025, Biz2X partnered with Columbia University to develop agentic AI Tools.[8]
- Biz2X Underwriting Agent: An AI-driven tool launched in 2025 to automate credit assessment.[9]
Research and events
[edit]In 2024 data from the Biz2X platform was utilized in a study by the NYU Stern School of Business titled "Lender Automation and Racial Disparities in Credit Access," which was published in the Journal of Finance.[10]
The study examined how automated lending processes impact credit access across different demographics. According to the research findings, while automation can increase efficiency, it also highlighted specific disparities:
- Approval Rates: The study noted that automated systems processed applications faster, but documented that Black-owned businesses often faced different approval outcomes compared to white-owned businesses in manual vs. automated environments.
- PPP Distribution: During the pandemic, the research indicated that fintech automation helped bridge the gap in reaching minority-owned firms that were often underserved by traditional bank branches.
