Oyedele Adebisi Jacob (born 16 July 1981), commonly known as Bisi Oyedele or Citiside, is a Nigerian politician and businessman who represents the Ipokia/Idiroko State Constituency in the Ogun State House of Assembly. He was elected to the House in the 2023 Ogun State House of Assembly election as a member of the All Progressives Congress.[1]
Early life and education
[edit]Oyedele was born on 16 July 1981 in Etikoto, Idiroko, in present-day Ipokia Local Government Area of Ogun State, Nigeria. According to his profile on the Ogun State House of Assembly website, he attended primary schools in Ikolaje and Idiroko before attending Iko-Gateway Grammar School, Idiroko, where he obtained his Senior Secondary School Certificate.[2]
He studied Transport Planning and Management at Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, and later obtained a master's degree in Public Administration from the same university.[3]
Career
[edit]Before entering elective politics, Oyedele was involved in business activities in Ogun State. A 2017 profile published by City People Magazine identified him with Citiside Fashion Outlet and reported that he had established Bisjac Investment Limited in 2008, with interests including automobile sales and importation.[4]
Political career
[edit]Oyedele was elected to the Ogun State House of Assembly to represent the Ipokia/Idiroko State Constituency in the 2023 Nigerian general elections. The Independent National Electoral Commission listed him as the All Progressives Congress candidate for the constituency and recorded him as elected.[5]
He was inaugurated as a member of the Ogun State House of Assembly in June 2023.[6]
He currently serves as chairman of the House Committee on Commerce and Industry.[7]
Legislative activities
[edit]Oyedele has raised issues concerning security, transportation, education and economic conditions affecting residents of Ogun State's border communities.
In October 2025, he moved a motion in the Ogun State House of Assembly calling for a reduction in the number of police checkpoints along the Idiroko–Owode road. The motion followed complaints about delays and alleged extortion affecting residents, motorists and traders using the route. The House subsequently called on the police to reduce the number of checkpoints and transmitted the matter to federal authorities for further action.[8]
In November 2025, Oyedele called on the federal government to review restrictions on the supply of petroleum products to communities within 20 kilometres of Nigeria's international borders. He argued that the restrictions were causing economic difficulties for residents of border communities. During the same period, he called for the revival of the Ogun State Polytechnic, Ipokia.[9]
In January 2025, the Ogun State House of Assembly called for the revival and operational take-off of the Ogun State Polytechnic, Ipokia, following a motion in which Oyedele raised the issue during plenary.[10]
In August 2026, Oyedele called for an investigation into the alleged killing of a man along Ifonyintedo Road and urged the Inspector-General of Police and the Ogun State Commissioner of Police to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death.[11]
Chieftaincy
[edit]In December 2017, Oyedele was installed as the Otunba Tayese of Iselu Kingdom in Yewaland, Ogun State.[12]
Community activities
[edit]In November 2025, Punch reported on constituency projects facilitated by Oyedele in Ipokia Local Government Area. The projects included the renovation and remodelling of a primary health centre in Iporan, the construction of three-classroom blocks at IPLG Primary School in Ijofin and IPLG Primary School in Ojuroko, Idiroko, and the provision of four motorised boreholes in Ihunbo, Vatipa, Ibatefin and Oniro-Agude.[13]
