Beth Burke is an American government affairs leader who serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the Canadian American Business Council (CABC), a nonprofit organization focused on promoting trade and economic cooperation between the United States and Canada. She assumed the role in 2023, after leading the organization's U.S. advocacy effort.[1].
Career
[edit]Burke began her career as a business consultant in the Great Lakes region of the United States before entering politics as a political staffer. She served in various positions in the United States government for more than a decade, including as a Presidential Appointee during the Obama Administration and as a senior staff member in both the United States House of Representatives and the United States Senate[2].
She joined the Canadian American Business Council in 2020, where she directed the organization's U.S. government advocacy efforts. In the fall of 2023, the CABC Board of Directors announced her appointment as Chief Executive Officer, formally assuming the position.
As CEO, Burke has represented the organization on issues relating to US-Canada trade, investment, and economic integration[3][4]. She has advocated for the continued implementation of the United States–Mexico–Canada Agreement (USMCA). Burke has testified before the Office of the United States Trade Representative and Canada’ Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs & International Trade in support of the Agreement[5]
