The rivalry between DC Comics characters Batman and Joker is regraded as one of the most iconic in fiction. Both created by Bob Kane and Bill Finger, Batman debuted in Detective Comics #27 (1939), while Joker debuted an year later in Batman #1, and since then, have both become cultural icons.
