Baran Nikrah is an Iranian presenter, voice artist and filmmaker. She wrote and directed her debut short film, These Sounds Are Real, which she co-produced with Hoda Zeinalabedin.[1][2][3]
Life and career
[edit]Nikrah studied physics and holds a PhD in atomic and molecular physics.[4] She has also worked as a voice artist and presenter, appearing as a host at cultural and film-related events.
Among her hosting roles, Nikrah presented the closing ceremony of the 37th Fajr International Film Festival in both Persian and English.[5] She also hosted the 23rd Hafez Awards.[6][7]
Filmmaking
[edit]Nikrah made her filmmaking debut with the short film These Sounds Are Real. She wrote and directed the film and co-produced it with Hoda Zeinalabedin.[1][2][3]
The film was screened at festivals including SXSW London, the Minimalen Short Film Festival in Norway, and the Tbilisi International Film Festival in Georgia.[8][9][10]
These Sounds Are Real received the Raskin Spirit Festival Award at the Minimalen Film Festival.[11]
The film also won the Best Director award at the Golden Grape Festival.[12]
