Atilla Serin (born 6 January 1997), known professionally as Ati242, is a Turkish rapper and songwriter. His stage name "242" comes from the telephone area code of Antalya, where he grew up. He pronounces it as "Ati two four two".[1]
Life and career
[edit]Serin was born in Immenstadt im Allgäu, Germany. He became interested in hip-hop culture and breakdance at an early age. In 2005, he moved with his family to Turkey and settled in Antalya. He started freestyle rap in middle school and made his first recordings in high school.
He enrolled in the English Business Administration department at Yeditepe University in Istanbul in 2016, but later left to focus on music.
His breakthrough came in 2018 with the song "Yolu Yok", which was shared by Turkish rapper Patron. After this viral success, he joined Patron Music Company (PMC) and released collaborations such as "Mayday".
In 2021, he released his debut studio album DIPSOMANIA. His emotional single "25" (2022) became one of his biggest hits. After leaving PMC, he continued as a solo artist.
