Name and brand mythology
[edit]The name Abgalis derives from the Sumerian word abgal (𒉣𒈨), meaning "sage" or "wise one." In Sumerian and Akkadian mythology, the Abgal (Akkadian: Apkallu) were seven divine sages sent by the god Enki to counsel the earliest kings of civilisation.[3]
The company's brand framework, the Seven Sages framework, maps the seven Sumerian sages to seven risk domains: market, credit, liquidity, insurance, operational, climate & ESG, and strategic & emerging.[citation needed] The company's tagline is "Seven Domains. One Counsel."
Products
[edit]ICRIP
[edit]ICRIP (Integrated Climate Risk Intelligence Platform) is Abgalis's flagship software-as-a-service platform, marketed to insurers and reinsurers.[citation needed]
The Cascade
[edit]The Cascade is Abgalis's monthly climate-risk intelligence brief, targeted at syndicate Chief Risk Officers and Chief Actuaries in the Lloyd's of London insurance market. The publication traces a dominant climate signal through seven domains of risk.[2]
Regulatory status
[edit]Abgalis Ltd is not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) or the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA). Communications and platform outputs are framed under Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 (Financial Promotion) Order 2005, Article 19, as directed at investment professionals and not at retail consumers.[4]
History
[edit]Abgalis Ltd was incorporated in England and Wales on 28 May 2026.[1] The company's first publication, The Cascade Vol. 1 No. 1, was released on 1 July 2026.[citation needed]
