Deweycheatumnhowe (foaled 12 April 2005) is an American Standardbred racehorse. He was a champion trotting colt and was named for the fictional law firm Dewey, Cheatem & Howe.[1] He was sired by Muscles Yankee and was out of Trolley Square, a daughter of Speedy Somolli.[2] He was bred by Steve Jones of Cameo Hills Farm and was trained and driven by Ray Schnittker.[3]

Deweycheatumnhowe raced in 2007 and 2008. He was undefeated in all ten of his starts as a two-year-old, earning $936,191. His major victories that year included the Valley Victory Trot, the Breeders Crown for two-year-old male trotters, the New Jersey Sire Stakes Final, the Bluegrass Stakes, the International Stallion Stakes and the Harriman Cup.[2][3]

At three, Deweycheatumnhowe won 12 of 15 starts and earned $2,218,987. His victories included the Hambletonian Stakes, the Canadian Trotting Classic, the World Trotting Derby, the Stanley Dancer Memorial, the Kentucky Futurity, the Bluegrass Stakes and the Dickerson Cup.[2][4] He finished third in the 2008 Breeders Crown for three-year-old male trotters, behind winner In Focus and second-place finisher Holiday Credit.[5]

Deweycheatumnhowe finished his racing career with 22 wins, one second-place finish and two third-place finishes from 25 starts. He earned $3,155,178 and recorded a best time of 1:50.4, set in the 2008 World Trotting Derby.[2] He was voted Dan Patch and Nova Two-Year-Old Trotting Colt of the Year in 2007 and Dan Patch Trotter of the Year and Dan Patch and Nova Three-Year-Old Trotting Colt of the Year in 2008.[2][6]

In October 2008, it was announced that Deweycheatumnhowe would stand at Walnut Hall Ltd. for the 2009 breeding season. His stud fee was set at $25,000 and his book was limited to 140 mares.[4]
