Cloaked is an American consumer privacy and security technology company. The company develops software that lets individuals generate disposable "identities", including masked email addresses, phone numbers, usernames, and passwords.[1][2][3] The company later expanded into related areas such as data broker removal, identity-theft insurance, dark-web monitoring, call screening, and a virtual private network.[4][5][6][7]

History

[edit]

Cloaked was founded in 2020 by Arjun Bhatnagar and his brother Abhijay Bhatnagar.[1][8][9][10]

In March 2022, the company announced a $25 million Series A funding round co-led by Lux Capital and Human Capital.[1][11] The service generated unique identifiers for individual online accounts and functioned somewhat like a password manager, except that it replaced personal data rather than merely storing it.[3]

Cloaked exited beta and launched its app and web-based platform publicly in October 2023, making the product available through a web app, a Chrome extension, and iOS and Android apps.[12] At launch the service was priced at about $10 per month or $100 per year following a free trial.[12] At the same year, the company had raised more than $29 million from investors including Lux Capital, Human Capital, and General Catalyst.[4]

In 2024, the company's founders were included in Forbes' 30 Under 30 list for consumer technology,[13] and Cloaked was named among the honorees in Fast Company's World Changing Ideas Awards in the small-company category.[14]

In 2025, the company introduced an enterprise offering that extends similar protections to employees and provides organizations with aggregated risk information.[15]

In March 2026, Cloaked announced it had raised $375 million through a combination of Series B funding and growth financing,[16][17][18][19] bringing its total capital raised to more than $400 million.[20][21][19]
