Due to its small size, Chickney has a parish meeting which can be attended by all residents rather than an elected parish council.[5]

There are 10 listed buildings in the parish.[6] Chickney has a church called St Mary's Church[7] which is Grade I listed and is a redundant church in the care of the Churches Conservation Trust.[8] Sibleys railway station in the parish closed in 1953.[9]
