Obviously this entire category needs a lot of work and I'm going to try and tackle the task by building/editing a page up to GA every week for the next year. However, for all the other potential editors out there, I highly recommend using https://www.rp-photonics.com/ as a basis for articles. Although he references a lot of his own publications, the depth of the majority of articles is quite good and will serve as a wonderful jumping-off point for creating great wiki articles.
