Cancer Kids First (CKF) is an American 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that supports children undergoing treatment for cancer.[1][2] The organisation describes itself as the largest youth-led cancer non-profit in the world.[3][4][5][6]
History
[edit]Cancer Kids First was founded in 2019 by Olivia Zhang, then a 14-year-old high school student based in McLean, Virginia.[2][7][8][9] Zhang has stated that she founded the organisation as a response to the passing of her grandfather and her elementary school teacher from cancer.[5][7][10][11][12]
By December 2023, CBS News reported that the organisation had supported approximately 8,000 young cancer patients.[5]
