Blind Corners are an Australian indie rock band formed in Gold Coast, Queensland.[1] The group have opened for Paul Kelly and Glass Beams.[2] In August 2026, they released their debut album Sink or Swim.[1]
History
[edit]2021–2024: Formation and Mud
[edit]Blind Corners is composed of schoolmates Toby Angus, Jay Dallas and Joe Denley who attended Tamborine Mountain State High School and played covers. In 2021, Swedish drummer Martin Niklasson joined the trio, forming the group.[3]
Their debut EP Mud was produced by George Carpenter and was released in September 2024.[3]
In 2024 they were finalists in the Byron Bay Bluesfest Busking Competition.[2]
2025–present: Sink or Swim
[edit]At the 2025 Gold Coast Music Awards, they group were nominated for three awards, winning the Gold Coast Music Prize.[4]
In August 2026, the group released Sink or Swim. The album was preceded by singles "Down River" on 10 June, "Alice" on 8 July and "Doctor" on 5 August 2026.[1]
