Ataenius setiger is a species of aphodiine dung beetle in the family Scarabaeidae.[1][2][3] It is found in Mexico (Baja California Sur, Guerrero, Morelos, Nayarit, Oaxaca, Puebla, Quintana Roo, San Luis Potosí, Sonora, Tamaulipas, Veracruz) and the United States (Arizona, Texas).[4][5]

Description

Adults reach a length of about 3.8–4.6 mm (0.15–0.18 in). They have an oblong, convex, piceous, moderately shiny body.[5]

Life history

Specimens have been collected in open meadows.[5]
