Anaxander or Anaxandros (Ancient Greek: Ἀνάξανδρος) was the 12th Agiad King of Sparta[3][4] (ruled c. 640–615 BC).[5]
He was the son of King Eurycrates[6] and father of King Eurycratides.He was also half athenian by his mother's side.
His grandson was King Leon of Sparta.[7][8]
Anaxander is mentioned by famous persons, including Tyrtaeus (a poet) and Pausanias (geographer).[9]
