Alexandre Amiel (born 11 April 1974 in Montreal, Canada) is a French journalist, director, and television producer.
Biography

[edit]He was born on 11 April 1974 in Montreal, Canada, into a Jewish family of Moroccan origin. His father was a meat trader. His brother, a close friend of Sébastien Selam (who was murdered in 2003), left France to settle in the United States.[1][2]
Training
[edit]Alexandre Amiel began his career as a journalist and reporter. He produced several investigative reports and documentaries for various French television channels (TF1, Canal+, France 2, M6). However, it was mainly at Canal+, from 1997 onward, and at the Agence Capa that he worked. He was one of the reporters for the encrypted channel's newsroom before spending four years at Agence Capa and on Le Vrai Journal in 2003, presented by Karl Zéro. He is the only journalist to have gained access to Ground Zero following the September 11 attacks.[2]
Career
[edit]In 2004, he created Caméra subjective, an audiovisual press agency specializing in current-affairs magazines and documentaries.
Notable productions include Pourquoi nous détestent-ils?, Made In France, François Fillon: l'homme qui ne pouvait pas être président, Mon vieux, and programs such as 300 millions de critiques on TV5 Monde, N'ayons pas peur des mots on i-Télé, Esprits libres on France 2, Bonsoir Monsieur le président, and Breaking News on Jimmy.
In 2024, he produced the series Le négociateur.[3]
Poker
[edit]In 2022, he shared, along with Bruce Toussaint, a passion for poker[4] and took part in the European Poker Tour in Prague.[5][6]
