Acobamba is the smallest of the seven provinces located in the department of Huancavelica in Peru. The capital of this province is the city of Acobamba.

Political division
[edit]The province is divided into eight districts, which are:
Ethnic groups
[edit]The people in the province are mainly Indigenous citizens of Quechua descent. Quechua is the language which the majority of the population (85.93%) learnt to speak in childhood, 13.83% of the residents started speaking using the Spanish language (2007 Peru Census).[1]
