The 2027 Asia Cup, also known as the Men's Asia Cup 2027, will be the 17th edition of the Asia Cup, a cricket tournament organised by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC).[3] It is scheduled to be held in Bangladesh from 18 June to 4 July 2027,[1] and will be played in the One Day International (ODI) format.[2]
Background
[edit]The Asia Cup is played in alternating formats. The 2023 Asia Cup was played in ODI format and co-hosted by Pakistan and Sri Lanka.[4] The 2025 Asia Cup is scheduled as a T20I tournament. The Men's Asia Cup has officially expanded to an 8-team tournament format, starting with the 2025 Asia Cup and continuing into the 2027 Asia Cup. The 2027 edition will revert to the 50-over format.[2]
Bangladesh was confirmed as the host nation in July 2026.[2] This will be the sixth time Bangladesh hosts the tournament, after 1988, 2000, 2012, 2014, and 2016.[5]
Teams and qualification
[edit]Six teams will participate in the tournament. Five full members of the ACC qualify automatically. The sixth team will qualify through the 2026 ACC Men's Premier Cup.[6]

Tournament format
[edit]The 2027 Asia Cup is happen to the same format as the 2018 and 2023 editions.[8]
Group stage
[edit]The six teams are divided into two groups of four. Each team plays the other two teams in its group once. The top two teams from each group advance to the Super 4.

[edit]The four teams play each other once in a round-robin. The top two teams qualify for the final.
Final
[edit]The top two teams from the Super 4 play a single final match on 4 July 2027.[1]
Squads
[edit]Each team will announce a squad of 15 players. Squads are usually announced one month before the tournament.

[edit]Players like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma were featured in promotional material for the tournament.[2]
Pakistan
[edit]Shaheen Shah Afridi is expected to be the captain of the Pakistan national cricket team and Babar Azam is also expected to feature in the tournament for its promotion.

Marketing
[edit]In July 2026, sports media outlets CricTracker[2] and CREX[1] released graphics featuring Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma to promote the tournament. The official logo and theme song will be released by the ACC closer to the tournament.
