The 2016 Inter-Provincial Trophy was the fourth edition of the Inter-Provincial Trophy, a 20 over cricket competition played in Ireland. It was held from 13 May to 5 August 2016.[1][2] Leinster Lightning were the defending champions.[2]

It was the final edition of the tournament without List A T20 status, which would be granted ahead of the 2017 season.[3]

Leinster Lightning won the tournament for the third consecutive time and would go on the achieve the Irish domestic treble that season.[4]
