Felix Amaechi Obuah (born 16 December[when?]) is a Nigerian business magnate, politician and philanthropist originally from Omoku, Rivers State, Nigeria. He has been the chairman of the Rivers State People's Democratic Party since 2013 and was reelected in May 2016 for his second term. Obuah has a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Ibadan. With a business career spanning over 25 years, his diverse interests range from properties, real estate, hotels, resorts, oil, trading and construction.
Obuah has served as council chairman of Ogba–Egbema–Ndoni local government area in Rivers State. He has also served as the national chairman of Oil Mineral Producing Areas Landlords Association of Nigeria (OMPALAN).[1][2][3] Obuah was a regular fixture of the 2015 elections, as he demonstrated unwavering resilience in his determination to ensure the election of Ezenwo Nyesom Wike. In June 2015, he was appointed Sole Administrator of the Rivers State Waste Management Agency.[4]
Early life and education
[edit]Felix Amaechi Obuah was born in Omoku, Ogba–Egbema–Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State, Nigeria.
He studied Business Administration at the University of Ibadan, where he obtained a bachelor's degree.[5][6]
Career
[edit]Felix Amaechi Obuah established a career in business before becoming involved in political office. He developed interests in sectors including hospitality, real estate, construction, oil and gas, and trading.
He founded and managed business ventures, including Krisdera Hotels and Resorts in Omoku, Rivers State. His business activities also extended into sports development through his support for Go Round Football Club, based in Omoku.[7][8]
Political career
[edit]Felix Amaechi Obuah began his political career at the local government level, where he served as Chairman of Ogba–Egbema–Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State.
He later held a party leadership position within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). In 2013, he became Chairman of the Rivers State chapter of the PDP and was re-elected for a second term in 2016.
In June 2015, Obuah was appointed Sole Administrator of the Rivers State Waste Management Agency (RIWAMA) by Governor Nyesom Wike.[9][10]
Community activities
[edit]Felix Amaechi Obuah has been associated with philanthropic and community development activities in Rivers State and other parts of Nigeria.
He has also supported sports development in Rivers State through the ownership and sponsorship of Go Round Football Club.[11][12]

Personal life
[edit]His father Bethel Chukujindu Obuah, a devout Christian, died aged 85 in 2016.[15]
