We will be picnicking on the morning/afternoon of Saturday, July 18, 2026 on the lawn of the Minnesota State Capitol. This is your chance to connect with other Wikipedia editors and Wikimedia enthusiasts and maybe have a little potato salad. We will be picnicking in the shade near the Minnesota Woman Suffrage Memorial southeast of the Capitol, so bring a picnic blanket, lawn chairs and a hot dish for the picnic if you like! We'll also be providing sandwiches for everyone but we encourage you to bring your own favorite dishes and beverages to share (no alcohol).

At 12:00 pm Minnastronomer (aka: Kari) will lead a History Tour of the Minnesota State Capitol building.

Public parking on the MN State Capitol complex is enforced Monday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Metered parking costs $2.00 per hour. There is also an all-day rate of $8.00 available. Payment can be made via credit/debit cards, cash ($1 and $5 bills), or coins at parking pay stations.

In case of rain or mass civil uprising and protest on the capitol lawn, the Wiknic will be rescheduled to Saturday August 15, 2026 (follow this page for updates).
