A quick question for clarification on a minor issue regarding WP:CT/RNE. The CT is stated as applying to the results of any national or sub-national election. My question is - given the phrasing "results" - does this refer only to elections that have already happened, or do pages such as 2026 New York's 13th congressional district election, coming up in November (and which was seeing disruption that resulted in my protecting it as a normal admin action) also fall within the CT? Thanks. The Bushranger One ping only 19:21, 9 August 2026 (UTC)reply

I didn't think this CTOP made a lot of sense even when it was enacted, but the past two years have shown that there's no need for it: it's been used just a handful of times and pretty much only for protections that either fall within some other CTOP or would be within an individual admin's discretion anyway (but that keep the sunset clause from ever coming into play). It should just be repealed. Extraordinary Writ (talk) 23:30, 9 August 2026 (UTC)reply
