Update the template's code with Special:Diff/1347021471. All the other {{PAM templates}} say "merging into", not "merging to", when the direction is known (and in the case of AfD it always is). FaviFake (talk) 05:52, 4 April 2026 (UTC)
Done as well as the other two cases of "merging to". Chaotic Enby (talk · contribs) 16:57, 4 April 2026 (UTC)

The template should use {{format link}} when linking to the target, to avoid displaying the#character. See {{Article for deletion/dated/sandbox}}: i've also tweaked the wording of the smaller text. FaviFake (talk) 14:04, 7 April 2026 (UTC)

- Thanks! Regarding Special:Diff/1347575578, I use CD as well but it looked fine. I don't like {{text diff}} due to its § Limitations FaviFake (talk) 14:26, 7 April 2026 (UTC)
- Oh and another thing! I made the target italic in {{Article for deletion/dated/sandbox}}...Sorry for all those requests. Does the template really need template-editor protection during this transition period? It barely has 600 transclusions. FaviFake (talk) 14:37, 7 April 2026 (UTC)
- There should be absolutely no need to paste code blobs into template talk pages, and certainly not using
{{text diff}}, which is for showing differences in text, not in markup. All proposed changes should be put in the template's sandbox, per WP:TESTCASES. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 21:42, 7 April 2026 (UTC)- I did put all my proposed changes in the sandbox. The code blob was there to help reviewers understand more quickly what I proposed to change. FaviFake (talk) 14:04, 8 April 2026 (UTC)
- That's why the
{{Edit template-protected}}box has a "sandbox diff" link. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 06:07, 9 April 2026 (UTC)- Yes, i know. Again, the code blob was there to help reviewers understand more quickly what I proposed to change FaviFake (talk) 12:29, 9 April 2026 (UTC)
- @Redrose64 If you click on the request edit button at the top (provided by {{permanently protected}}), it prompts you directly with {{text diff}}. I strongly suggest you make an update to {{Request edit button/preload}} if you have a problem with how this is handled. ~ oklopfer (💬) 18:07, 9 April 2026 (UTC)
- There is a clear instruction in that preload as follows: If your edit is more than one or two sentences, then delete the "Diff:" text below, put your changes in this template's sandbox and link to the sandbox below. — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 21:22, 10 April 2026 (UTC)
- Could any admins here actually update the main template with the sandbox please? Instead of discussing which (or whether) templates should be used to make edit requests? I've only italicised the target article's name to match every other merge template, it shouldn't be controversial at all and will reduce the template-editor requests backlog. FaviFake (talk) 22:04, 10 April 2026 (UTC)
Done Would appear that Chaotic Enby has already implemented these changes? --Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 21:30, 11 April 2026 (UTC)
- Nope; I was referring to § c-FaviFake-20260407143700-Chaotic Enby-20260407141500, which still hasn't been implemented. i apologise if the request was vague. FaviFake (talk) 04:36, 12 April 2026 (UTC)

Description of suggested change: Replace with {{Article for deletion/sandbox}} to rm reference to deletion, since this might be a merge or other nomination. FaviFake (talk) 16:14, 30 May 2026 (UTC)
