History
[edit]Maybe a bit more history would be interesting here: I think the first movement-breath combination was the Sun Salutation, and then basically Krishnamacharya copied that and expanded upon that to do whole yoga-sessions in this way? Lcporschen (talk) 06:52, 18 May 2026 (UTC)
- It seems so (and is the obvious route), but I'm not sure there is chapter-and-verse evidence that he did that; and of course his Yoga Korunta nonsense pretends the whole thing was an ancient discovery not a modern invention. I'll see if I can find anything... revisiting Singleton 2010, I've added a paragraph on what Singleton thinks may have happened to make Jois's future Ashtanga Yoga different from Krishnamacharya's normal practice.
