Merge proposal

I think the title of the article does not fit its content, as Romania was more fascist under Carol II's personal regime (which preserved the anti-Semitic legislation of Goga and added law-enforced corporatism). How about merging the new content into the article about Goga cabinet?Anonimu (talk) 14:30, 3 January 2019 (UTC)

I second that. This is a fork and a dangerous one. Romania was arguably a fascist state from 1937 to 1944. What is specific to Romania are all the different varieties of fascists who hated each other. Plinul cel tanar (talk) 08:17, 10 July 2021 (UTC)

Should this article even exist?

Not adding the deletion template, at least yet, but I don't think there should be one article about the two separate regimes.

1. The majority of scholars don't consider Antonescu's regime fascist, and this article gives no sources for calling his regime "fascist". The articles Ion Antonescu (and, well, Draft:Dictatorship of Ion Antonescu) give only two sources for the label "fascist"; I could check only one of them, and the words attributed to one of these sources turned out to be not present there - there is one mention of "military fascist regime", but there's no any reasoning for the label given in the book - unlike in the case of the authors who dispute the label "fascist". Hence, making an article labelling the regime "fascist" contradicts WP:DUE (I think).
2. Suppose that Antonescu's regime was fascist. Still, this alleged fascism was different from the one led by the Goga party, so even if we could fit the two into the one umbrella term, the two regimes are clearly not the same phenomenon. Conflating the two into one article is the same as uniting Democratic Kampuchea and People's Republic of Kampuchea into one article "Communist Kampuchea" - these two were different "communisms". I don't think Wikipedia has other cases of making one article about two (or more) separate regimes.

What unites the regimes is antisemitism and the "far-right" position. If one wants to unite them into article, then perhaps one should make a broader article Far-right politics in Romania, similarly to Far-right politics in France and the others. The only original content on this page - not copied from the others - is about the Goga goverment - so I think this section should be just moved to the corresponding article and maybe to the one of the Kingdom of Romania.
