Description of suggested change: Change the code of the "note" item so that it automatically starts in a new line (under the title). The note (e.g. if used for performers on a compilation/soundtrack) often messes up the first column. And you cannot insert a line break manually because the note is automatically in brackets and hence the first bracket will be before the line break.-->

I would prefer not to do this. The primary use I make for note is to provide translations of non-English language track titles – which is one of the few uses suggested in the template documentation fwiw. These make much more sense placed next to the title. When an entire album has non-English language titles, and so every track has a note, it would double the length of the section pretty much. Given that the template is used over a huge number of articles, changing this without really considering the range of articles and uses would probably be a mistake for me.
I could see some utility in adding the possibility of a line break, and there are other aspects of the titles and notes columns that may be worth considering, but I'm not sure forcing a line break always is the best option Fichead Bliadhna (talk) 15:28, 14 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
Not done for now: please establish a consensus for this alteration before posting an edit request. Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 20:41, 14 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

Display parameters

[edit]

Only No., Title and Length display when there are no values. Is it possible to make Length invisible unless the track length values are filled, like Extra column? Kailash29792 (talk) 03:45, 1 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Quotation marks

[edit]

Is it possible to add an option to not show quotation marks?

Here's a example where that can be useful: "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying (soundtrack)". There are descriptive titles and subtitles like "Overture", "Finale", "Reprise", "Finch's frolic", "Company party". It would be nice to have an option to disable quotation marks in cases like this. --Moscow Connection (talk) 11:14, 17 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

Track list length

[edit]

Per the template for the total length parameter, it notes "It should be specified in minutes and seconds, even if it is longer than one hour, for example 74:23", however as per Category:Track listings with input errors, it mentions "Time segments should also not exceed 60", with the total length showing as 1:23:45 for example. The statements are quite confusing and need to be fixed.--Majash2020 (talk) 03:31, 19 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

Proposal: 7" vinyl single Side A and Side B

[edit]

For track listings in articles for singles, there is sometimes a 7" vinyl single release with tracks on Side A and Side B, sometimes with exclusive tracks not available on any other format. Can there be a update to this template to reflect this by allowing both A and B tracks to be labelled within a single tracklist? The template parameters trackA, writerA, lengthA and trackB, writerB, lengthB could be added for this purpose. Blackstardust16 (talk) 09:52, 30 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
