Moka & Co. is a New York-based company. The company operates a chain of Yemeni coffe houses and focuses on Yemeni coffee with beverages and pasteries.[1][2]

History and expansion

Moka & Co opened a location in East Lansing, Michigan. The location had a soft opening in December 2023 but its official opening was planned for January 8, 2024. It was a Yemeni coffee shop that offered tea and other drinks and food.[3]

In October 2024, Moka & Co opened a new location in Ann Arbor, Michigan. This was the sixth Michgan location and the company's 11th location overall.[1]

In Augsut 2025 Moka & Co. was planning to open another location in Dearborn, Michigan. The company already had its presence in Michigan, Arizona and New York and planned the expansion of locations in other states as well.[4]

Voyage Michigan reported in August 2025 that Moka & Co had opened 24 locations in two years.[5]

Moka & Co. operated more than 15 cafes across the country on October 22, 2025.[6]

Fast Company Middle East article reported in April 2026 that Moka & Co has operated 22 locations in the US.[7]

The West Side Rag stated that Moka & Co. started in Michigan and and expended to New York and also describes the Yemeni coffee culture of Moka & Co.[8]

Products and services

Moka & Co. offers coffee drinks, chai, lattes, matcha, pasteries and sweets, fruity refreshers, Dubai chocolate.[1]

RAW Detroit explains that Moka & Co. use single-farm Yemeni coffee beans with Yemeni-style light roasting.[9]

Leadership

Mohamed Elgahmi is a founder of Moka & Co.< ref name="Voyage Michigan" /> [10] and Nuaman Ali is the CEO.[5]

Basheer Shahbain is the Cheif Operating Officer (COO) of Moka & Co.[5]

Donald Walker is the Chief Brand Officer of Moka & Co.[6]
