Bigg Boss – The Common Man is a spin-off and pre-show of the Indian Tamil-language reality television show Bigg Boss. The pre-show involves selecting contestants that are not celebrities for the main show. The format of the show is based on the Telugu-language television show Bigg Boss Agnipariksha.
The show is hosted by former contestant Maya S. Krishnan whilst Oviya, Aari Arujunan and Raju Jeyamohan are the judges. The first season set to air from 16 August 2026. The winners will compete as contestants in the main Bigg Boss house.[1][2][3][4]

Season 1 (2026)
[edit]Announcement and digital auditions
[edit]On 1 June 2026, the makers of the show released a promo where Vijay Sethupathi announced that commoners can participate in season 10 by visiting Jiostar's website.[5][6][7] The initial call for applications was made on the VIJAY.JIOSTAR.COM website. Applicants had to register and upload a short video explaining why they deserve to be on the show.[8]
Broadcast
[edit]The pre-show will premiere from 16 August 2026 until early September 2026 and will be streamed exclusively on JioHotstar.[9]
Host and judges
[edit]Former Bigg Boss contestants are participated in the show as host and judges.
- Oviya: Actress, contestant of Bigg Boss 1, she is a part of the pre-show's judging panel.
- Aari Arujunan: Actor, winner of Bigg Boss 4.[10]
- Raju Jeyamohan: Actor, winner of Bigg Boss 5.
- Maya S. Krishnan: Actress and host, second runner-up of Bigg Boss 7, She is now part of pre-show's host responsibilities.[11]
