Move again?
[edit]Now called Omnissa Horizon ( https://www.omnissa.com/products/horizon-8/ ) so presumably it not cause controversy to move again? MrTAP (talk) 04:12, 22 February 2025 (UTC)
Edit request: update the stale ownership and licensing text, and populate the Horizon 8 section

I am a paid contractor for Omnissa via Insight Global, disclosed at User:KD revisions and not editing directly.
I am requesting four changes with sources included.
1. Fix the ownership sentence in the lead because it is outdated. The current text says: Broadcom completed its acquisition of VMware in November 2023, and then in May 2024 spun out the End-User Computing division, including Horizon, into a standalone entity called Omnissa pending the sale to KKR.
Reason for fix: the sale closed in July 2024, so "pending" is out of date.
Proposed replacement: Broadcom completed the acquisition of VMware in November 2023. In February 2024, Broadcom agreed to sell End User Computing (which included Horizon) to KKR. The EUC division began operating as Omnissa in May 2024, and the sale closed July 2024, making the company independent.

2. Replace the 2011 View licensing paragraph
Current text says: VMware View has two licensing options, Enterprise and Premier. Enterprise comes with vSphere for Desktops, vCenter Server, and View Manager, and has an MSRP of $150 per concurrent desktop. View Composer, Persona Management, vShield Endpoint, and ThinApp are included in the Premier edition at an MSRP of $250 per concurrent desktop.
Reason for fix: This describes View 5 pricing from 2011, which is out of date, and WP:NOTPRICE often discourages pricing.
Proposed replacement: The 2025 releases (2503 and 2506) moved from VMware/Broadcom licensing modules to Omnissa's own licensing module. The rebrand also included changing of the file paths, service names, and registry keys, which required additional migration work.

3. Replace the empty Horizon 8 table with prose and update the infobox
Reason for fix: The Horizon 8 section has a table header but no rows.
Proposed fix: Remove the table and add a short paragraph: Horizon 8 was announced in August 2020. The release naming moved to a year-month scheme. The current release is 2606, released August 24, 2026. The 2025 and 2026 releases also added Nutanix AHV support in addition to the Omnissa licensing module. Also, update the infobox release to 2606 (8.19.0) on August 24, 2026.

<ref name="vr-2026" /> (for the Nutanix and licensing information)
4. Add the analyst positioning with an independent note. This can be accomplished with one or two sentences at the end of the lead; or, alternatively, as a short "Reception" subsection.
Fact 1: Gartner placed Omnissa in the Leaders quadrant of its 2025 Magic Quadrant for Desktop as a Service when evaluating Omnissa Horizon.
Fact 2: Virtualization Review's 2026 assessment noted improved innovation and support after the separation from Broadcom. The assessment also noted that the rebrand created migration work for administrators.

As a note, the Gartner report is a subscription-only report. However, I am able to provide relevant passages if the reviewer requires verification.
Please let me know if there needs to be any wording or grammar changes, as I'm happy to make those adjustments on my end. Thank you. KD revisions (talk) 19:10, 23 September 2026 (UTC)
