Italy

The first time italian women were able to vote was in 1946 (June 2, at the Republic VS Monarchy referendum), not in 1945, as stated previously. I'm italian and hope not to be wrong: I corrected the entry. -- Progettualita (not logged in)

Afghanistan

Afghanistan's women gained suffrage in 1919, according to a more credible source, Amnesty International

Is there a reason Afghanistan is listed under 1963 and 1965? If so it should be specified, if not...fixed?

I deleted the entry under 1963 and left 1965 based on and cited that page.

Ireland

According to what I can find, it appears women were given the vote on a franchise equal to that of men in 1922 and not 1928 as this article suggests, does anyone have any evidence that contradicts this or should I just go ahead and change the year?

United States

Why is the United States, on the world map included in the article colored (dark organge) for women's suffrage between 1960 to 1970? I understand the fact of the many racial barriers to the vote in many states in the US, but I would imagine this is a list of de jure suffrage rather a timeline of it in actual free and fair practice. It seems that the author/editor might have a US bias, as it is almost guaranteed that many other nations had barriers (racial or otherwise) that prevented some women from accessing their right to vote. I say either go by the de jure date for all countries, or extensive research needs to be done, for all nations, to determine if their were significant barriers for voting that included some portion of women in that country. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.203.10.96 (talk) 07:03, 8 October 2025 (UTC)

If we want to make changes to the map, then this is an issue for Commons: c:File:Women suffrage world decade.svg. It does not look like a source is provided there. Mellk (talk) 08:09, 8 October 2025 (UTC)
